Dad, Look – I Wrote A Book!, 2026

Medium
Paper, ink and twelve months
Dimensions
1 book
Credit
On loan from the author's table

Welcome to the Main Hall. Before you stands the only work in our collection. Completed in 2026, it is a book. Note the black cover, the gold lettering, and the confidence of the title, which addresses the artist's father directly. Scholars agree it is the finest book in the building. It is also the only book in the building.

Room 2 · The Whisky Room

Book with Whisky (Study), 2026

Medium
Book, glass, whisky, table
Dimensions
1 book, 1 glass
Credit
Gift of the artist

In this room, the book is joined by a glass of whisky, the artist's only collaborator. The glass is half full. The book is fully written. Experts believe the whisky was there for moral support during the twelve months of writing. The whisky has since been finished. The book has not been sold.

Room 3 · The Modern Wing

Book, Electric, 2026

Medium

Dimensions
Same book

The Modern Wing asks a bold question: what if the book, but neon? Critics have called it the same book in a different light. They are correct. Please take a moment to appreciate it. Take another moment. That was two moments. The average visitor spends four seconds.

Room 4 · The Sculpture Garden

Dad Look (Sign), 2026

Medium
Light, letters, longing
Dimensions
Larger than the book
Credit
Permanent installation

The Sculpture Garden contains our largest work, a sign that says what the artist has been saying for years: Dad, look. It is bright, it is loud, and it has not worked. Visitors are asked not to shout the sign's message at their own fathers inside the museum.

Room 5 · The Empty Room

Dad, Looking (Untitled), Ongoing

Medium
Absence
Dimensions
Unknown

Not pictured

This is the most talked-about room in the museum. The frame shows the artist's father, looking at the book. As you can see, he is not in it. He has not looked. The frame has been ready since 2026. Curators check it every morning. If you are the artist's father, please step into the frame.
